Beta demo and feedback calls

Hi @beta testers,

I’m planning to start a bi-weekly beta demo and feedback open call to demonstrate some of the latest features, show what we are currently working on, answer questions, and hear feedback from our users.

The first call is planned for next week Wednesday 26 February at 18:00 CET (12:00 EST, and 9:00 PST). Here is a calendar invite. All Beta users interested in learning more are welcome to join.

On Wednesday 26 February, you can join this live Google meeting

Hope to see some of you there!

Will it be recorded? I am not sure if I can attend the meeting but I would love to see the demonstration

Small thing I have noticed [beta on mobile Q3 version] is when ‘start capturing’ is activated, it stays active after the magic camera window is dismissed. This leaves the camera running with no way of turning it off without opening back up the magic camera options. Suggest if this can be changed so the camera ‘stops capturing’ automatically when the window is dismissed for better control of the process. Also noted that the trigger to ‘capture’ with the magic camera is a bit hit and miss. This may be because other geometry or menu’s are being highlighted inadvertently while camera is active and that prevents the trigger action. Aside from this, the improvement with the capturing via camera has made a very positive difference.

Thanks for joining the call last week and for this additional feedback Greg.

We made a recording from the call for internal usage and are discussing how we can best share this. We’re planning to do another one of these in 2 weeks around the same time and I will let you know more details on that soon.

In last weeks call, we introduced our Arkio plugin and the upcoming improvements for AI camera and saving frames inside the Arkio scene. More on that will be added on our what’s new page when the new version builds become available.

Some initial feedback shared during the last call:

  • Javier Castro Suggested adding lines and splines for more precise 3D sketching, similar to Rhino, and improving UV mapping and texturing capabilities.
  • Justin Benjamin Felt the initial camera implementation was not intuitive and appreciates the improvements that are coming. He asked about the Arkio forum and suggested a “clear model” button to delete all content. He also requested better file management, search functionality, and scene naming conventions.
  • Alexander Tanguay Experienced flickering with the new primitive shapes but was overall excited about the new features.
  • Greg Davey Was excited about the upcoming ArchiCAD plugin and praised the ability to import Google Tiles geometry via a blender plugin. He requested a folder system for organizing project files and emphasized the importance of modeling features in Arkio.
  • Damian Ponton asked about the consistency of geometry in AI renders and how Arkio handles that.
  • Ceferino asked if it was possible to train the AI model within Arkio.
