Midterm Explorations

Starting from the same three reference points; A, B, and C, each student developed a completely unique spatial journey in Arkio. What began as a shared framework quickly transformed into a diverse set of interpretations of path, perception, and presence in VR.

In these projects, gravity is optional, scale is fluid, and space is no longer bound by physical constraints. Students explored what it means to experience architecture rather than simply observe it, creating moments of compression and release, unexpected vantage points, and evolving focal nodes that guide movement and attention.

Each path reflects a personal definition of virtual reality:

  • not as a simulation of the real world, but as a medium for entirely new spatial logics
  • not as static form, but as an unfolding sequence of experiences

Proud of the creativity, risk-taking, and imagination shown here. Looking forward to how these ideas develop in the second half of the semester.
