I used arkio to help me and my family members see the vision. when i was explaining to them they it as my desert yard is lifeless its hard to pucture . You’ll see some produce that I planted, I wanted to see if it was possible. They are doing great , I’ll be moving forward with this starting in the spring but will be a long process.
I have more trees to add and a lot of labeling once i can figure out how i want to group and zone everything. Things ive been having difficulty with is changing the date of the sun position. if its accurate then ill be able to position full sun loving trees to cover the plants that need shading for x amount of time.
Another is when ever i go to one side of the yard (being careful not to touch controllers on meta 3) to adjust a wall then go back to the other side they are not aligned anymore. One of the reasons why i deleted the house for now until i learn more about arkio. Is there a way to make the ponds or any objects more curvy?
This is a great use case @K0nscious , thanks for sharing!
It’s nice to see how you also use a passthrough cube to compare your detailed landscape design with the current situation and how everything is aligned to your surroundings.
Regarding the questions you have on Arkio features. The sun adjusts in longitude/latitude following the location set in the map tool so that should allow you to do more precise simulations for finding the best plant shading if you aligned your garden well on the map to the north.
The environment getting misaligned while walking over larger distances can be caused by the Arkio scene not being locked in place or by the headset losing tracking accuracy. Did you lock your human scale position on your bracelet? This should prevent grip panning movement as long as the headset is still recognizing and tracking your space well.
If the Quest loses tracking (Meta recommends people to not walk further than 20m/65ft as they are still working on supporting larger tracking spaces) you might have to realign your environment from time to time. This is easiest to do while walking and seeing reality blend in and then using the grip buttons carefully to re-align some corner points and then locking the wristband again.
For making curvy surfaces I would recommend looking into arrays of distorted Arkio primitives. There are some examples of how to do this in tutorial scene 4.
Keep us posted and let us know if you have any further questions as we’d love to see how far you can take this as your design progresses!
Hi ,
Yes I did lock the position. I think its meta tracking . My back wall is 100’ long . It also happens in the house but it all makes sense now thank you.for all the tips.
