Educational examples of Arkio

Arkio is used worldwide in various schools and classrooms, and we’d love to hear from our users about how they are using Arkio. We will begin by sharing some examples of our educational users when Arkio was still in its early access phase.

Cornell AAP

One of the first collaborative design workshops we’ve seen was at the Cornell AAP University in New York, USA. Students were asked to create a design using emerging virtual reality tools, such as Gravity Sketch, Tiltbrush, and Arkio. Students were confined to their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting an excellent opportunity for them to continue meeting and collaborating using Arkio. We loved seeing the creations students came up with, and some students even designed their entire plan in Arkio.

Venice studio

This workshop was initially planned to be onsite in Venice in 2021, but due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the team from UNStudio hosting this workshop decided to use Arkio as an immersive and collaborative way to experience the three Venice sites and present the final designs to each other using Arkio.

Academy of Architecture

Students at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam got the assignment to create and review their designs in VR in the summer of 2022. This was one of the first large-scale educational collaborations, where more than 20 students entered the same collaborative Arkio space to work on a mock-up. Students concluded the semester by presenting their designs to one another using Arkio on Meta Quest 2 headsets.
