Anyone else having issues with 1.9? I go to launch it and it brings up the black screen to start and then just crashes.

@theredmage could you do one thing, just for the sake of sanity. Could you uninstall and then reinstall Arkio? I’m wondering if there was a hiccup during the update process and some old libraries might not have been cleared properly.
@theredmage Could you also give me a sense of what your setup was? It would be good to know what devices you’re using (desktop, headset, etc) and how it’s running on your machine.
hey David, yep already done a full uninstall and reinstall of both 1.8 and 1.9. Same results from updating via launching 1.8 and getting the prompt and doing an install from 1.9 msi file. The first time when I launched 1.8 today I was prompted with the update to 1.9 as it seemed like I had no choice, so I choose Install from the prompt, it then provided me with both the installer and an error window that some components of 1.9 failed to install, this was before I even moved forward with the installer. From there I tried to uninstall completely and restart and try again, no luck.
This is a desktop PC with a i9 12900KF, 64gigs RAM with a 3080ti currently running Nvidia 561.09
jk - this is great info, I’ll keep digging into this with the team. Are you using a headset connected to your pc? Or are you using Arkio just a 2d desktop app? There’s a hunch that the OpenXR error from your logs is pointing to an issue with oculus’ link mode.
ah interesting. I am currently using the Quest 3 (unattached) and the PC (modeling and export to Arkio and launching meeting) together with Arkio, but I do have another Rift 2s that is unattached to the PC but associated to the Meta software. I’ll try plugging it in and see if that helps any
okay, no dice on bring back the Rift S to life, even tried to launch it from the headset for giggles still the same problem. If you could let me know where the file paths are that get installed Ill do a manual wipe and maybe that might help. Tomorrow when I get back I’ll also reinstall Meta Quest Link
Ah this helps a good deal and I think I know what the issue is, so put that Rift S back on the shelf. With the trial license it only supports 1 device running at a time. It is a floating license so you can assign it to multiple machines but it will boot you out if there is already someone using that license. I bumped this up to 2 so it will cover your workflow using two devices.
Hey David, we have 2 pro licenses. My account probably doesnt show it because our IT did the procurement. Thanks for the ongoing help! I think there is something to this though, I unplugged the Rift S completely and it now launches no problem. With the Rift S completely unplugged, it doesnt open up the Meta Link App which I think was part of the problem you were able to see with it trying to run the OpenXR, but it Arkio might be also getting tricked by me having so many devices.
@theredmage sorry for the delay in getting back to ya! We needed to pick at this edge condition a bit more, but a solution has (potentially) come to life
We are suspecting that the desktop version of Arkio you have might have been installed through the Meta Quest desktop app, which is not updating properly when you run the installer to update to 1.9. Here is what we would recommend
Uninstall Arkio on your desktop, including any versions of Arkio downloaded from Steam or the Meta Quest desktop app
