Hi
I am using rhino 8 and when I export my mondel to the arkio cloud the file isn’t showing up on the cloud website. What do you think is the issue.
Welcome @d_mon
If you are unable to see your Rhino exported model on the Arkio cloud something might have gone wrong when uploading the model to the cloud. Did you get any warnings that can explain what happened? Are you able to load the model from Rhino to Arkio on your PC locally?
You can then place the Rhino model in the Akio scene and share it with your other devices using an Arkio meeting. You can find more information about the steps to import your models on this page. Let us know if you have further details or questions about the steps to bring your models to Arkio.
I was able to get it working, but I had to rejoin the group. My walkthroughs have been really successful on my current film. Are there any tutorials on adding textures and better lighting to the exports and VR experiences? The Demo videos look great, and I would love to achieve that level of detail. Right now, it is just a white model.
Applying realistic textures and transparent glass materials will help to make the Rhino models look better. Arkio only has one light source as the Sun, due to the standalone headset rendering limitations. If you want to bump of the rendering quality you can connect your Quest headset to a PC in PC VR (air) link mode, as this will let your PC do the rendering that adds some higher resolution shadows and Ambient Occlusion shadows.
You can also make things look more realistic on Quest or other mobile devices by adding photorealistic textures or baking in shadows in the textures. Importing Lidar scans, satellite images, enabling map 3D buildings or floorplans can be an easy way to add more detail in your scene without much effort. The Arkio sample and demo models have some good examples for inspiration.
Cool, Thanks. I will try that.
