On the latest version of Arkio my graphics is completely broken, or rather the VR is broken when running from Windows 11. It more or less looks like the eyes are swapped or out of sync. In the Quest link menu everything works fine but Arkio is totally busted so it is not the link itself that is the problem. Tried from two different PCs with the same behavior. Reinstalled Arkio and Meta Quest Link but no change. Anybody know what to do to fix it?
Hi Mikael,
Welcome to the forum. We’re not seeing these issues with Arkio on our Meta hardware in PC link mode for Arkio 2.1.2. Could you provide us with more information on why this issue is occurring on your systems?
Do other PC VR apps render normally in link mode for your setup?
Does this issue occur for the Arkio sample models or for your own loaded models?
Does the PC version of Arkio work well without a VR headset connected?
Does Arkio work well for your Quest using the standalone app?
What version of the Quest headset are you using?
What OS version are you on with your Meta headset?
What version of the Meta Quest Link app do you have on your system?
In case you have issues with some models or scenes, you can try to clear your temp resource files
We can also further investigate the issue if you can send us your recent Arkio logs and any recordings of the issue to support@arkio.is
I’m only getting version 2.1.1 on the PCs (even though I just reinstalled it). Not sure if that is an issue.
Everything else runs fine, it is just Arkio that does this. I never get to loading a model since the whole program is displaying strangely. If you look with one eye you can sort of use it but things move in odd ways so it is a surefire way of getting motion sickness.
What it displays on the PC looks fine, both in VR and desktop mode, as I mentioned it almost seems like the eyes are swapped, the picture on the left eye is much further to the right than the one on the right eye.
I’m using a Quest 3 with 81.1034 and with Meta Horizon Link Version 83.0.0.269.349 on the PC.
Arkio used to run super smoothly from the PC, as long as Quest link worked that is. Not sure what version I was on last time I used it but I do believe there has been an update from early 2 to 2.1.1. If it wasn’t for everything else I’ve tried working fine I would have blamed it on Quest link, as it is extremely flakey, but it is only Arkio that does this and it starts as soon as the Arkio logo is displayed in the loading screen. I open the meta menu to quit the app, the menu displays fine over the garbled Arkio in the background.
Thanks for the extra info. Are any other users in our forum experiencing issues with Arkio in Link mode?
We haven’t changed any rendering packages between 2.0 and 2.1 and we’re not seeing this on our Quest 3 on OS version 81, and Meta Horizon Link Version 83 on the PC so it seems like something specific to your hardware and driver setup.
Can you confirm which version of Arkio you are running on your PC? Are you running Arkio from our PC installer (recommended and currently at v2.1.2), the Meta Horizon Link app store, or via Steam?
Is your Meta Horizon link app set to the default OpenXR headset on your system?
Does Arkio render correctly for you when using the Steam version?
It would be best if you touch base with us at support@arkio.is so we can try to narrow this down further. You can also use Arkio on your PC in non-VR mode and share your models with Arkio on Quest in standalone mode, either via a meeting or the Arkio cloud.
